Showing up without a filter

to remind the world that I have uneven skin tone

and a perpetual red reindeer nose even when I’m not cold and

smile lines like sun rays shining out of my eyes because I am made of light

and I cannot stop smil

I had to say goodbye to my sweet buddy last week, there is no way to describe the ache, but one thing I know is true — the love we had was so big, so of course, the pain is, too.

I wanted to honor him with photos and stories and a little poem
